Pre-IB Programme at Eerde International Boarding School Netherlands

Eerde International Boarding School is delighted to offer a special package tailored for the 3-year programme, including IB Diploma.

What is Pre-IB?

For those students transitioning to international education and to get fully prepared for the International Baccalaureate Programme, Eerde offers a Pre-IB programme. 

The Pre-IB programme is a one-year programme specially designed to prepare our students for the academic curriculum of the IB Diploma Programme. With a focus on rigorous academics, critical thinking, and global perspectives, our programme equips the students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in high school and beyond. We offer it to students in the 10th grade of high school and is available for students transferring from any curriculum worldwide. 

The main goal is to provide students with a strong foundation in key subjects, such as mathematics, science, language, arts, and social sciences but also to develop critical thinking, research, and organisational skills, particularly necessary for success in the IB Diploma programme.

We offer 2 different routes in this program based on their English proficiency skills: Higher Level or English Second Language. 

During the academic year, students will all be taking the following subjects:

• English
• Maths
• Global Perspectives
• Dutch Language and Culture
• Art
• Music
• Physical Education

In addition, each term, they are offered a combination of two other subjects, providing them with comprehensive training based on the condensed IB programme:

• History
• Economics
• Geography
• Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS)
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics

Finally, students are prepared throughout the entire school year for the foundational principles of the IBDP, namely Approaches to Learning (ATL) and the IB Learner Profile to give them the best possible scenario for success in the Diploma Programme.

Visas 

As a visa referent for the IND, we can apply for visas for non-EU students for this programme. This programme is therefore especially suitable for students outside the European Union, to start their academic career early to get the best outcome for the IB Diploma Programme.
