EU Business School invites CEO of Google Belgium and Luxembourg to talk about his career and present his new book in Munich
Posted on 29th Mar 2019 in University Study, GermanyOn Monday, April 1, EU Business School (EU) will welcome the CEO of Google Belgium and Luxembourg, Thierry Geerts, as part of its inspirational ‘Learning from Leaders’ series.
He will talk about his fascinating career and describe how working at one of the world’s most powerful tech companies has moulded his thinking on the role of technology in our everyday life. These ideas are presented in his deliberately provocative book Digitalis: How to Reinvent the World. The event will take place at 5pm at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.
Technology has developed at an extraordinary rate over recent years, bringing enormous societal change. There has been considerable debate over the challenges raised by the recent technological advances; for example, the potential effect of digital disruption and artificial intelligence on jobs. Thierry Geerts’ book, set in the imaginary state of Digitalis, calls for us to put aside fear and welcome the digital revolution. It provides a unique and privileged view into how technology has the ability to improve the lives of people now and in the future.
Thierry Geerts is a passionate tech-optimist who believes that technological advances create unique opportunities for improving society. He will provide invaluable insights into these innovative ideas during his presentation.
Following the presentation, Peter Vanham, lead writer and US media lead at the World Economic Forum, will interview Mr. Geerts, focusing on his remarkable career and the fascinating theories expounded in Digitalis. This will be followed by a book-signing session and cocktail.
