SEK International School Catalunya is located in a quiet and safe residential area spanning 100,000 m2, including a large expanse of Mediterranean forest. The school is in La Garriga, a picturesque town just 30 minutes from the centre of Barcelona, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe.
SEK-Catalunya boasts modern facilities and innovative learning spaces and teaches the three International Baccalaureate Programmes. The Middle Years Programme is offered in Spanish and English and the Diploma Programme is offered entirely in English or in both languages. We are one of the leaders in the international rankings thanks to our excellent results in IB Diploma exams.
SEK-Catalunya is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), which is a process of external globally recognised quality assurance. NEASC accreditation allows SEK-Catalunya to offer the US High School Diploma, as a complement to the IB Diploma.
The school offers its Secondary School and Baccalaureate students the opportunity to take part in the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, an all-round personal development scheme focused on the development and training of skills such as: leadership, autonomy, problem solving and teamwork.
The SEK-Catalunya Music School, in partnership with the Trinity College London, offers a complete curriculum for all students who wish to acquire the necessary skills to learn classical and modern music.
We also offer international boarding, housing students from Spain and abroad in modern, comfortable and functional facilities, designed for residents to live together, grow as individuals and develop their personal identity thanks to a multicultural environment and a rich offer of complementary activities.
SEK International School Catalunya has just joined ISTA, the International creative arts. The school has also launched the promotion of student lead projects in the EMPOWERMENT HUBS which give students the space and time in the school day to follow their interests and passions.
