Located in the tranquil suburb of Discovery Bay, Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) offers an outstanding education for children aged three to eighteen. Just half an hour from Central and fifteen minutes from both Tung Chung and Sunny Bay, the school enjoys a prime location, with excellent transport links and direct access to the natural wonders of Lantau Island.

British Curriculum with an International Flair

DBIS follows the National Curriculum of England, tailored to the school's international setting. Students begin their learning journey in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with teaching centred around the belief that all children are infinitely capable, creative and full of potential. Firm foundations are laid in EYFS, providing the building blocks for continued high-quality learning in the Primary and Secondary phases of the school.

Strong Academic Rigour

Small class sizes and individual attention from tutors and teaching staff support DBIS students in achieving excellent (I)GCSE, A Level and BTEC results, setting them up for continued success at world-class universities around the globe. The school's strong academic pedigree is underpinned by a truly holistic approach to education, nurturing balanced, well-rounded individuals, ready to take on the challenges of an ever-changing world. A wide variety of free-of-charge extracurricular activities are available to students.

Outstanding Facilities

With three exceptionally well resourced campuses, DBIS offers students access to first-class learning resources. Extensive indoor and outdoor facilities are found at the school's dedicated EYFS Campus, which is purposefully designed to support the intellectual, social and physical development of its youngest learners. Outdoor space is also abundant at the Primary and Secondary Campus, which boasts a swimming pool, gym, all-weather pitch, netball/basketball courts and playgrounds. Other facilities include state-of-the-art STEAM, Drama, Art and Music suites, Discovery, Design & Technology and Science labs, and an impressive library. Sixth Form students enjoy their own dedicated learning centre as well as access to the facilities at the Main Campus.

A True International Community

DBIS students hail from around the world, representing approximately 50 nationalities at any one time. This diversity is actively celebrated both in school and through a range of popular community events. The school has a very active Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA), and parent involvement in school life is warmly welcomed. The oldest international school on Lantau Island, DBIS has been at the heart of the Discovery Bay community for over 40 years.
